Autumn Trip to South Korea 2024: part 2!

Twelfth day! We went to Suwon.....! It is one hour ride, by train, from Seoul. Suwon is very very very beautiful. First, we went to Mong Ted cafe, a shooting location of popular k-drama, lovely runner (I didn't watch it tho, I am not into the main actress, I am sorry). My friends are huge fans of lovely runner, so we took a lot of photos there. Since it was quite early, the neighborhood was quite empty. After taking photos, our original plan was to have lunch in a muslim-friendly restaurant, recommended by the travel guide book. However, after taking one bus and walk a little, we found that the restaurant was CLOSED. Omg. You know lha, it is not that easy to find a place to have a meal in Korea for muslim. So, we decided to go back to our previous place, by taking one bus, to explore the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress. Suwon Hwaseong Fortress is sooooooo beautiful. I wanna cry. We explored the fortress, took a ton of photos, and went to a cafe with Fortress view. The cafe was called ...

My very first Europe trip: Summer in Munich! (part 3)

Forth and fifth day. These were conference days as well. And later in the afternoon on the forth day, I attended poster session. I will be standing in front of my poster for 1 hour and have a discussion with any participant interested in my poster. Apart from the poster session, nothing special. Attending lectures, eating lunch, and getting a cup of tea. No more coffee. My lunch in forth and fifth day was egg and veggie wrap. I LOVE IT!!! And I am very grateful for four people who came to my poster. In the evening, after conference, my supervisor and I went shopping. We went together from the conference venue but heading to different stops. On forth day, I wanted to buy a t-shirt for my father. I went to souvenir shops I saved before in my google maps. But, I bought nothing. The price was quite expensive. I wanted to buy a t-shirt in the first souvenir shop that I visited with my supervisor on the first day, but couldn't make it in time. So, I went to MUJI, instead. And you know wh...

My very first Europe trip: Summer in Munich! (part 2)

I will continue writing, since the momentum is alive. Second day. On the second day, I planned to go to a lake called Schliersee. It is around 45 minutes by train from the city. I think I went around 9 a.m. I wanted to go earlier, but decided to take it easy. I ate wheat bread for breakfast and packed some wheat bread with slice cheese for my lunch. The first thing that I needed to do is buying a 1-day ticket covering Schliersee area. So, in Munich you can buy 1-day ticket that covers unlimited rides by train, tram, and bus, according to an area that you choose. If you stay in the city, you can choose M-zone. If you travel outside the city, you can choose zones 1 until 12. As long as I remember, Schliersee is in zone 8. So. The original plan was going to the Schliersee, hiking and enjoying the lake. Then, I will move to Tegernsee. It is another lake, near the Schliersee. Tegernsee is in zone 7, so I could travel there with my day ticket. From the hotel, I went to the train st...

My very first Europe trip: Summer in Munich! (part 1)

Wow, it's a very long time no see. Me write a blog post, means that I have a job but don't want to do it. So, here I am. Guess what? Alhamdulillah, this 32 y.o girl set foot in Europe for the first time!!! But, yeah, this girl is broke again after spending her saving. Does she regret it? Absolutely, no. If I resume this Munich trip, one word fits to describe is hectic. So, I could go to Munich because I got the opportunity to attend a conference in Munich after submitting an abstract. Do you know? I had a consultation with a lecturer who mastered in statistic while I was in Japan. Then, right after I came back from my Japan trip, I had to finish that abstract and submit it to a conference in Munich. At that time, I couldn't imagine me in Munich. I was afraid. It is way too expensive. I only can go if I get the travel grant from the conference committee. The abstract and travel grant announcement were sent quite early. My abstract got accepted, but my travel grant applicatio...
